Manufactured in house by Benson this three-quarter plate pin set movement has a true English Lever escapement and an over-sprung cut compensating balance with gold screws. The mainspring pressure is controlled with Geneva stop gear which is fully functional. For more information on the "Ludgate" movements see my Blog post J.W. Benson "Field", "Ludgate" and "Bank of England" watches.
The English made double backed case has London hallmarks for Sterling Silver, 1891, the maker’s mark of J.W. Benson.
Hi-Res pictures are available for this watch in the hi res / English gallery.
