This is an 1883 model Sterling grade Waltham. It is a size 18, full plate movement with "Safety Pinion"
and is crown wound and set. It has 7 Jewels, a Swiss lever escapement with a Breguet sprung cut compensating balance. The serial number dates the movement to 1901.
The swing out, screw front case is a "Silverode" type (A non-tarnishing and hard wearing nickel based alloy) by the Crescent Watch Case Company. Note the crown MUST
be pulled out to the set position before the movement is swung out or back in.
